Joshlyn Camille, has already shared the big screen with veteran actors such as, Cobie Smulders, Mel Jackson, Terri Vaughn, Lou Meyers, and Gospel legend Vickie Winans, just to name a few. She has also graced the Broadway stage as Little Inez in Jeff Nominated Hairspray with Felicia P. Fields (Color Purple-National Tour), and Tim Kazurinsky (Old Jews Telling Jokes/Saturday Night Live).

Her humble beginnings, with the Soul Children of Chicago, have awarded her the opportunity to obtain a wealth of knowledge coupled with invaluable experience, "separating her from your ordinary teen".

2016 is proving to be a  stellar year for Joshlyn.  She  was awarded the "Rising Star Award" by Allstate &  City of Chicago Cultural Affairs September 14th. 2016. Honorees included blues legend Buddy Guy;  photographer Victor Skrebneski; actress, educator and theater founder Jackie Taylor; museum founder Carlos Tortolero; and  improv and sketch comedy theater,  Second City.

 April 2016, Joshlyn Camille & her band CoCo Butter took 1st Place  for Bringin Down the House at House of Blues, Forward Foundation. Joshlyn was also invited to perform at this years Blues Fest

2015  Joshlyn performed with internationally renowned singer Tecora Rogers and her Jazz Ensemble at The Quarry, (Mo Better Jazz). This rising star performed at the (2015) Chicago Gospel Festival. In 2014 Joshlyn filmed feature film "Unexpected" starring Cobie Smulders. Available for purchase at Amazon, Netflix and ITunes.

 

She also starred as Katie in the hit play Two Twenty Seven "227", written and directed by Dr. Christine Houston., October 2014.

 

In 2013 Joshlyn became the recipient of a Black Theater Alliance Award for her performance in the musical "Clara". Just a few years ago; she was also the recipient of a Chicago Music Award for Most Talented Youth under the age of 12. Joshlyn was awarded the Dreamers Award for performing arts presented by the Bronzeville Women's Auxiliary.

 

Joshlyn has performed with several gospel greats, Jessie Dixon, and Queenie Lenox. She also performed the National anthem at a U.S. Cellular Field.
